Tirana, November 20, 2024 – the MK Hotel in Tirana was abuzz with activity as education professionals, policymakers, industry leaders, and students convened for the international conference “From Classroom to Workplace: International Approaches to Work-Based Learning (WBL)” organized under the V2VAL project, the event highlighted best practices and innovations in work-based learning, a pivotal approach in bridging education and employment.
A Morning of Insights and Inspiration – Showcasing Project Achievements
The day began with a warm welcome opening remarks of the Principal of Vocational High School Kamza, and the Project Manager for Capacity Building at APRO Formazione, provided a snapshot of the V2VAL project’s objectives and significance.
Keynote speeches from representatives of MEKI (Ministry of Education and Key Institutions), NAES (National Agency for Education Services), highlighetd the important role and contribution of the project for both schools’ partners and the role of collaborative efforts in advancing WBL across Albania and the broader European context.
Panels of Discussion: A Deep Dive into WBL Innovations
The mid-morning discussions were a highlight, featuring three panels that explored diverse aspects of WBL:
1. From Classroom to Workplace: International Approaches to Work-Based Learning – SEPR showcased successful international strategies for WBL implementation.
2. Bridging Theory and Practice: The Role of Skills Competitions in Enhancing Work-Based Learning – Albanian Skills- National Association for Skills Competitions demonstrated how skills competitions provide a powerful platform for merging theoretical knowledge with hands-on expertise.
3. The Future is Now: A Roadmap to Increased Sustainability in VET – BuildGreen Group shared Vocational High School Kamza’s journey toward integrating sustainability into vocational education, serving as a model for eco-conscious learning.
Engaging Voices from the Community
In an interactive roundtable session, students, teachers, and staff from Vocational High School Kamza took center stage. They shared personal experiences and insights on how their mobilities to SEPR ans APRO Formazione shaped their educational and professional journeys, engaging the audience in a lively Q&A session.
