Fast Forward project, Training of Trainers in Vlora, Albania during 26-30 August 2024

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the Training of Trainers (๐Ÿ˜ญ) in Vlorรซ, Albania, organized as part of the โ€œEngage, Connect, and Empower Youth for a Sustainable Green Future – Fast Forwardโ€ project ๐ŸŒ. This Erasmus+ initiative, co-funded by the European Commission, is designed to empower youth and youth workers by focusing on two crucial European Youth Goals: quality learning ๐Ÿ“šand a sustainable and green Europe ๐ŸŒฑ.

The Training of Trainers aimed to enhance capacity-building in the youth sector by supporting non-formal education providers, youth activists, and key stakeholders. It promoted critical knowledge on climate change awareness, environmental digitalization, innovative climate technologies, and partnerships that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ๐ŸŽฏ. The program was filled with interactive workshops, team-building activities, and knowledge-sharing sessions that equipped participants with the skills and tools to drive meaningful climate action in their communities ๐Ÿ”ง๐ŸŒฟ.

Throughout the training, participants explored various topics, starting with an overview of the projectโ€™s background, key objectives, and milestones ๐Ÿš€. Team-building exercises helped create a collaborative environment where participants shared their expectations and ideas ๐Ÿค.

Expert-led sessions were central to the training. Notable contributions came from Oljam Dervishi, an Environmental Expert ๐ŸŒ, who mentored a session on the impacts of climate change on natural and human systems, and Anira Gjoni, a Communication Expert ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ, who led discussions on effectively communicating climate change. These sessions provided participants with a deeper understanding of the urgency of climate action and equipped them with skills to spread awareness ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ฌ.

The training also delved into the technical aspects of climate science ๐ŸŒก๏ธ. Participants worked on analyzing climate data, distinguishing between long-term climate trends and short-term variability ๐Ÿ“ˆ. Workshops provided hands-on experience with data interpretation and climate modeling, enabling attendees to understand and act on climate information more effectively ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ.

As the training progressed, the focus shifted to climate adaptation strategies ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ. Through case studies, group discussions, and interactive quizzes, participants explored emerging technologies and successful urban adaptation projects in the Western Balkans. They also collaborated to develop tailored adaptation plans for their communities, fostering a solutions-oriented mindset ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ™๏ธ.

The final day of the training culminated in a celebration of the collective achievements ๐ŸŽ‰. Insightful interviews, focus groups, and a closing ceremony highlighted the participantsโ€™ growth and contributions throughout the program. Certificates were awarded, marking their readiness to lead climate initiatives and foster resilient communities ๐Ÿ…๐ŸŒ.

This impactful training program was made possible through the collaboration of six dedicated partner organizations: Albanian Skills, BRAVO – Bosnian Representative Association for Valuable Opportunities, Eco Logic, The Balkan Forum, Brigaid Connect, and Build Green Group. Co-funded by the European Union ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ, the project has laid the foundation for a future of empowered youth leaders, committed to building a sustainable and green Europe ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ผ.
